Marie and Alastair | Isle of Lismore
“Thank you” hardly seems like anything close to how grateful we are to you for such amazing pictures you have given us, we absolutely love them.We are so glad we entrusted you with capturing the best day of our lives and we are eternally grateful to you for what you have managed to capture and produce for us. We really can’t thank you enough.
When Marie and Alastair enquired with me saying they plan to marry on the Isle of Lismore, I must admit – I didn’t have a clue where it was! The small, inner hebrides island sits in between the Isle of Mull and Oban on the main land. Google tells me only 170 people live there! Marie grew up on the island and with her dad still working on the farm, there was only going to be one place where she wanted to get married. Now with an island wedding, comes quite a bit of logistics. Guests arrived by boat from Oban in the morning and were transported from the pier to the church by tractor and bogie – a rural wedding at its finest!! The weather thankfully was kind to us (a tad windy mind!) after the ceremony where we managed to get some shots of the happy couple just before catching the boat back to Oban for the reception. Over 150 people on a tiny boat full of champagne and beer, confetti, accordion playing… picture the scene for a minute… the happiest and best of times. The celebration continued at the Corran Halls where a marque was put up the day before.
The day was an absolute pleasure to be part of – one that will stick in our mind for quite sometime. We drove home absolutely shattered( I think it was the sea air! ) but knew we both captured an honest, heartfelt story of a memorable day. Thank you for your trust and hospitality Marie and Alastair. All the very best.
