Ruth and Teal | Ardbrecknish House, Loch Awe

What can I say about Ruth and Teal’s ” Scotland Edition ” wedding day. I say Scotland edition as they both flew all the way from Los Angeles, California where they both  live and work. The “U.S ” edition taking place later this year in Teal’s home state of Oregon. Ruth is originally from the scenic west coast town of Ullapool.

I say this a lot but it really was great to see both families come together from different corners of the world to celebrate Ruth and Teal’s love for one another. And what a setting! In the grounds of Arbrecknish House, looking over Loch Awe – it couldn’t have been anymore perfect. The day was far from traditional – Ruth – a busy costume designer,  made all of her shoes and dresses. She even designed and made Teal’s suit too! There was no wedding cake or traditional speeches , just lots of good Scottish whisky and dancing!

The only tradition was the clinking glasses!! I was wondering what was going on when everyone at the dinner table started clinking there glasses! This is an American tradition where the newly married couple have to kiss. Legend has it that back in the day wine was bitter and so by clinking the glass and the couple kissing – it made the wine sweeter! I like this legend story that was told to me by Ruth and Teal’s friends at the dinner table!

Thank you so much to everyone for making me feel so welcome on the day – I had an absolute blast with you all. All the best to you both Greyhavens!! Please say hello from time to time.
