Ruth and Teal | Ardbrecknish House, Loch Awe

What can I say about Ruth and Teal’s ” Scotland Edition ” wedding day. I say Scotland edition as they both flew all the way from Los Angeles, California where they both  live and work. The “U.S ” edition taking place later this year in Teal’s home state of Oregon. Ruth is originally from the scenic west coast town of Ullapool.

I say this a lot but it really was great to see both families come together from different corners of the world to celebrate Ruth and Teal’s love for one another. And what a setting! In the grounds of Arbrecknish House, looking over Loch Awe – it couldn’t have been anymore perfect. The day was far from traditional – Ruth – a busy costume designer,  made all of her shoes and dresses. She even designed and made Teal’s suit too! There was no wedding cake or traditional speeches , just lots of good Scottish whisky and dancing!

The only tradition was the clinking glasses!! I was wondering what was going on when everyone at the dinner table started clinking there glasses! This is an American tradition where the newly married couple have to kiss. Legend has it that back in the day wine was bitter and so by clinking the glass and the couple kissing – it made the wine sweeter! I like this legend story that was told to me by Ruth and Teal’s friends at the dinner table!

Thank you so much to everyone for making me feel so welcome on the day – I had an absolute blast with you all. All the best to you both Greyhavens!! Please say hello from time to time.

Jo and Fran | Taypark House
It may sound a little cliche but it's true that every single wedding ceremony has it's very own uniqueness to them. I absolutely love that as you never know how each ceremony is going to affect you and others around you. The wedding ceremony of Jo and Fran held at Taypark House in early September,  was one which left pretty much everyone in a blubbering teary mess - myself included!Taypark house is special. It lies in the heart of Dundee but with it being surrounded by trees and slightly off the road it almost feels as though your out in the countryside. Alana, Rebecca and the staff are always very welcoming. I particularly like how weddi ...

Laura and Ian | Lowson Church , Invercarse
I was so looking forward to Laura and Ian's wedding day after their pre wedding shoot we'd done a couple of months before. With a traditional church ceremony held in their hometown of Forfar at Lowson Church, then a short drive through to Dundee for the celebration held at The Invercarse Hotel.  I cannot recommend the amazing Rev. Karen Fenwick enough! She was such a legend with possibly the best service I've heard for quite some time. We even had a wee plan before the ceremony where she would duck and move herself out of shot for the first kiss! Thank you Karen! The day was such a breeze and again I genuinely felt so lucky to be part of it ( ...

Aimee and Lewis | Glen Clova
The quiet, unspoiled scenery as you make your way along the narrow, winding road. The "wee kirk" with huge hilltops all around. The ever changing colour as the clouds shade the sun. Glen Clova is a bit special and it's a place that never gets old.Aimee and Lewis wanted a super relaxed, no fuss wedding day with photographs to start from the ceremony onto the first dance. Friends and family came from as far as Canada to join in with the celebration and were stunned as Aimee made her way down the aisle with her best pal and bridesmaid, Cat. Aimee at the time of her wedding was 8 months pregnant. She was beautiful and I'm sure Lewis must have ...
