Scotland Elopement Photographer | Shores of Loch Tay
“
We are so happy you were able to join us, as planning a wedding from so far away, and at such short notice, we were taking a massive punt with who we asked to come along for the ride. However, having seen examples of your shots on the website and Instagram, we knew you had the right combination of quirky and professional. We wish we could have another wedding all over again, and we’d have you back in a second.
Being Steph and Laura’s Scotland elopement photographer on the Shores of Loch Tay was both a joy and a privilege to be part of. The girls and their families drove up from Yorkshire to spend the weekend in peace and tranquility. Arriving at the 5-star lodges in the morning, I was greeted by the girls and was treated like I was part of the family. With hair and makeup being done in one lodge and a couple of lodges hired out, it was decided Laura would nip away to get ready and Steph would “radio” her when it was her turn. They even had ‘proper’ walkie talkies! Fail to prepare girls… The morning highlight for everyone had to be Steph’s dad’s surprise as he headed off to get ready himself and return wearing the full Scottish! He even had his phone blearing the bagpipes as he made his way down to the lodge for full effect! A moment to be remembered and I’m sure talked about forever more – I was so glad to have been in the right spot at the right time to capture it for them.
A small and heartfelt ceremony by the river
With the lodges sitting on the small pebble beach right beside the river, the two families huddled in a wee circle and some lovely words were said by both Steph’s mum and Laura’s dad. A long piece of string was held out and the wedding rings were passed through the string to each guest before reaching Steph and Laura – a lovely and unique part of the ceremony and a great way for each guest to get involved in the celebration. After the ceremony, we snuck off for 10 minutes or so to create some epic landscape shots for the two of them. The two of them were on cloud 9 and were such great fun to photograph.
There are so many favorites we could have chosen, lots of candid moments that you picked up on, for example, spotting my Geordie dad appearing in a kilt over the horizon. However, we chose this shot because it summed up what we were looking for in our teeny, tiny ceremony, a sense of beginning alone in the wilderness, together and happy and joined.
I loved every part of being Steph and Laura’s Scotland Elopement Photographer on the Shores of Loch Tay. It was such a perfect setting for a ceremony with perfect weather to match. If you are in the middle of planning your Elopement wedding, please get in touch here
