It was such an honour to be part of Lisa and Chris’s Scottish elopement at Dunnottar Castle recently. Having flown all the way over from the U.S, to be together on top of those clifftops – I don’t think I’ve witnessed something quite as romantic as that before. We talked before to plan locations and timings. November in Scotland is incredibly fickle weather wise so we agreed to keep the day flexible with a 3 day window. With Lisa and Chris on their first vacation to Scotland, they were more than happy to see the sights and take in some of the whiskey tours Scotland has to offer. I met them on a crisp Tuesday morning around 9.30am at Dunnottar where I instantly felt a real connection between the two of them. Before walking down to the castle, the only instruction was where I’d like them to bet for when they said those loving words to one another. This was incredibly important for a few reasons – the photographs are real and true. Secondly, Lisa and Chris will look back on these with genuine feeling and in turn you can see how much this moment meant to them. After their ceremony, we had a wee wander on the clifftops and down to the beach – both were so relaxed and happy in each others arms.
A very memorable morning indeed. Thanks for having me Lisa and Chris – all the best to you both!
